Reading Response #11
During my research, I will be creating a project
that focuses on 8 sessions and during those sessions, we will introduce what
bullying is, how to acknowledge it and methods to prevent it. During this process,
I will use the concept of visual images because I believe that students can
hear about bullying but what really causes them to internalize the information
is for them to see it. I agree with Sandra Weber when she states, that visuals
can be used to put hard to grasp concepts into words. I think that people
understand what bullying is but they do not truly grasp the entire concept. During
this project, students will be able to correlate what they have previously
learned about the types of bullying and what constitutes bullying and relate
those words to visuals. They will use visuals to put this concept into words. I
believe that visuals are a great source to use and I will utilize this concept
during my research.
This looks like a good plan. Contact Robert Aiello-Hauser at the Pride Center to look at his curriculum as a guide.
